2021 Bluegrass Festival Canceled

It is with great regret that we must cancel the 2021 WHYS Radio Bluegrass Festival due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. We set a early decision date and at the time we made the decision the Covid situation not improving at the rate that we had hoped. Our concerns are for the safety of our attendees, volunteers, musicians and the community in general.

New to WHYS Radio's Bluegrass Festival? Expect a relaxed lazy day at Lake Altoona County Park. Large shade trees are all around the area, so no need for sunscreen unless you or the kids want to visit the park beach. Be sure to put the free parking pass on your dashboard and, if you like, catch a ride on the Cody Limousines cart to the entrance. Picnic tables are limited so it's helpful to bring your own chairs or a blanket to spread. Brats, hot dogs and other festival fare will be available as well as our famous rice and beans in the club house. Craft beers will be on tap in the pavilion. Kubb sets will be available within earshot of the music, with national and international experts available to show you the game. There will be a kids area and there's also plenty of swings right next to the seating area. Best of all there are loads of talented musicians to enjoy on the main and side stages. If time allows we'll have a large Bluegrass jam to end the evening, so bring an instrument and play along.
